Murder at the Come On Inn

This is book one of the Jeremy Pendelton Murder Series, a cozy mystery where Jeremy, an amateur sleuth, helps solve the murder of John Flannery, a resident of the Come On Inn.

Flannery was found dead in his bed at the Inn, located in False River, Louisiana. Shortly thereafter, Jeremy took residence in the Inn and was assigned poor Flannery's bed. Mil Fremont, owner of the Inn, ran an illegal blackjack game in the Inn's garage. It was there that Jeremy met and was befriended by Jimmy, a reporter for the weekly False River Review. Jimmy had reason to suspect foul play in Flannery's death and enlisted Jeremy to work with him on the case as his inside man.

The Inn had evolved from a traditional B & B to a home for permanent residents. Those living there were a strange group except for Polly who developed a romantic relationship with Jeremy. There were many suspects including a crooked Chief of Police, a resident who was a nazis sympathizer and Mil Fremont, herself. Jimmy and Jeremy ultimately solved the murder and, in the process, helped to reform the False River Police Department.
