The Shattered Node

Utah was never the source.
It was the warning.
After the lattice reveals its true function, Rowan and the team
understand the terrifying truth: the global network is not
creating anomalies.
It is holding them back.
But every human attempt to study, silence, control, or correct
the system has made it weaker. The cleaner Utah becomes, the
more unstable the rest of the world grows. Stonehenge loses
time. Antarctica distorts. Secondary nodes misfire. Across the
planet, reality begins to strain under pressure it was never
meant to carry.
Then the system changes.
Rowan is no longer simply being watched. The lattice begins
acting through him—imprinting, directing, and pulling him
toward a purpose he does not fully understand. What once felt
like observation becomes something far more dangerous.
Agency becomes uncertain.
Choice becomes conditional.
And the line between human decision and system directive
begins to disappear.
As governments close in and the global nodes fall further out of
coherence, Rowan must face the possibility that the lattice is
not trying to destroy the world.
It may be trying to survive us.
But if the system decides human interference is the threat, the
question is no longer how to stabilize reality.
It is whether humanity will be allowed to remain part of it.
